We made a literacy connection to math through poetry, counting syllables, noticing the rhythm and reading with expression and meaning.
I'm proud of our readers. They have worked hard to support each other. Each reading partnership sits together and shares their ideas after independent reading time. We've learned to face our partners, look to show that we're listening, ask questions and share more than the plot (i.e., character actions and motivations, problems and solutions, text connections to self, other texts and the world).
